This page tells you about help at home every day.
Go back to the full pageWhat is SIL?
SIL is help.
SIL is not a house.
You can live with other people.
Or you can live on your own.
Workers can help you get ready.
They can help you cook and clean.
Some people get help at night too.
Your home and your money
SIL does not pay for rent.
SIL does not pay for food or bills.
You pay for these with your own money.
For example, your pension.
Planning your help
We talk about your week.
We write down when you need help.
The plan goes to the NDIA.
The NDIA decides how much money you get.
You can meet the people in a home.
You can visit before you choose.
You can say no.
You can change who helps you.
You can keep your home.
Your home and your help are separate.
Who can help
A person you trust can help you.
This can be family, a friend or an advocate.
They can read this with you.
Your support coordinator can help.
