When you contact us
How to ask for an interpreter
You never need to wait until your English is "good enough" to talk with us.
Step 1: Tell us your language
When you contact us, tell us the language you would like to use. A few words in English, or the name of your language, is enough. Someone can also contact us for you.
Step 2: We arrange an interpreter
We work with interpreters, including through TIS National. Tell us if you would like a man or a woman, or if you need an Auslan interpreter.
Step 3: We talk with you
The interpreter helps us talk with you, by phone or in person. You can ask questions and take your time.
You can reach us through our contact form. If you would like information in another format, such as large print or a printed copy, ask us.
A note about languages
We do not claim that our team speaks particular languages. When you would like to use a language other than English, we work with an interpreter. That way you know you are understood, and you never have to rely on a worker translating for you.
